March 2019 Beacon Knoll HOA Newsletter

 

 

The HOA board met on Tuesday evening the 5th of March for their regular scheduled meeting.

 

The following members were in attendance:

Peter Quinlan                 President

Patrick Turner                Vice President

Scott Kendrick               Treasurer

David Alexander            Secretary

Richard Hamm               Member at Large

Russell Lewis                 Member at Large  

Open                              Member at Large (the Board is seeking a member at this time)

  

Financial Items – Key expenses to the association in the past several months are:

  •  
  1. The association pool was renovated during the last two months.  
  2. Clean up and restoration of portions of the lake shore line was completed in March.
  3. Swim Club Management will provide daily pool service this year.  The contract covers an eight month service window plus winter service.

 

The Treasurer reported that all other expenses during the first two month of the new year were on track to meet the annual budget.   The HOA receives additional income from use of the Club House facility and that income in tracking as projected. The Board thanks the association members for being timely with payment of the first half dues

 

Pool Operations – The pool has gone through a major renovation this winter and is in really great shape. There are just a few minor cleanup issues that the pool management company will address before the pool official opens on the 1st of May.  The board is in the planning stages of having a grand reopening party at the pool and are looking for ideas and volunteers to help plan this activity. Gazebo / Pavilion Upgrade Project – The Board is in the process of revising the original plans for renovation of Pavilion area.  Using the feedback from last fall’s special meeting regarding this project the board felt it prudent to have this project professionally reassessed to ensure that best result for the HOA. The Board will provide updates as this project moves along.

 

Board of Directors.  There is one open member at large board position open that the board would like to see filled before the April meeting.  Please remember that strength of the associate comes from the participation of the members and giving up small amount of time required to be on the board is small sacrifice for having the joy of living in a great neighborhood.  

 

Social Items - As of this meeting, the HOA has two social events on the calendar for 2019. If you have an idea for a social event that you feel needs to be added to the 2019 calendar, please reach out to one of the board members or join us at the next board meeting to table your suggestion.

 

  •  Russell Lewis indicated that his wife and others were in the planning stages of the Grand Opening Pool Party in May, date and time his not yet been set, so please feel free to reach out to Russell if you would like to assist with the event.
  • David Alexander has indicated that the pig pickin’ will be back for 2019. The Board felt last year’s 4th of July Pig Roast / pool party was a great success and Dave has agreed to do it again.  We will start the planning for this event in early May and anyone that would like assist should reach out to Dave Alexander. 

 

Miscellaneous Items

  • The HOA Board discussed painting the pool rest room and pump service area. Bids are going to be solicited from several contractors. The goal is to have this project completed before the pool opening in early May.  Painting and repair work on the clubhouse exterior trim may be conducted at the same time depending on the cost.
  • At the February board meeting there was an open discussion regarding the status of the neighborhood security system.  Agreement was reached that the existing system that covers the club house and the front entrance of the neighborhood are out of date in comparison to technology available today. Peter Quinlan has started the process of gather information and quotations on a system upgrade which will be discussed at the April meeting.
